Question: Which set do you prefer? Ten Commandments I, the shorter traditional set?
Do you want to bring back the "Sunday Blue Laws" of Commandment IV? What gov't
agency will enforce number X?
The Ten Commandments II
Exodus 32:19 "When Moses approached the camp and saw the (golden) calf and the dancing,
his anger burned and he threw the tablets out of his hands, breaking them to pieces
at the foot of the mountain."
Exodus 34:1 "The Lord said to Moses, 'Chisel out two stone tablets like the first
ones, and I will write on them the words that were on the first tablets, which you
broke.' "
Exodus 34:12-26
I. "Be careful not to make a treaty with those who live in the land where you are
going, or they will be a snare among you . . . "
II. "Do not worship any other God . . . "
III. "Be careful not to make a treaty with those who live in the land . . . "
IV. "Celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread . . . in the month of Abib . . .
"
V. "The first offspring of every womb belongs to me . . . "
VI. "Six days you shall labor, but on the seventh day you shall rest . . . "
VII. "Celebrate the Feast of Weeks with the firstfruits of the wheat harvest, and
the Feast of Ingathering at the turn of the year . . . "
VIII. "Do not offer the blood of a sacrifice to me along with anything containing
yeast, and do not let any of the sacrifice from the Passover Feast remain until morning."
IX. "Bring the best of the first fruits of your soil to the house of the Lord your
God."
X. "Do not cook a young goat in its mother's milk."
Exodus 34:27 Then the Lord said to Moses, "Write down these words, for in accordance
with these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel."
The second set has problems with all the new holidays, Commandment V, Commandment
VIII ("No beer with your barbeque") and Commandment X ("No milk gravy on your chicken
fried steak"). "No treaties" will appeal to the militias.
