Mensans Host KTPB Radio for Dinner
The third annual appreciation dinner for our local public radio personnel will be held Friday, February 18 at 6:30 pm at Kilgore's JALAPENO TREE Restaurant. The Longview-Tyler area enjoys great classical music, area news, local concerts, Kilgore College sports, and Public Radio news. We'll thank KTPB folks for their hard work and enjoy some good Mexican food at the Jalapeno Tree. Tune in 88.7 FM and get acquainted with the staff before the dinner if you aren't a regular listener. We plan to have a tour of the station after dinner.
Meet your favorite DJ - Kathy Roberts, Manny Almanza, Bryan Black, Kevin Kelly, Jim Allen, or Richard Anderson. ETBU's Music Dept. will be helping sponsor and pay the the bill, but we need Mensans there to pick up a couple of checks too! You might volunteer to join the staff on the air during their upcoming annual fundraising, March 24-31. They like for area arts and music folks to participate in their on-air drives.
Directions: From I-20 take the 259 South exit to Kilgore. Stay on US-259 past TX-31 (1st light) and past Wal-Mart (2nd light). About 2 blocks beyond Wal-Mart you will see Durham Chevrolet on your right and JALAPENO TREE on your left. Ask for the Mensa/KTPB Radio tables. [From Tyler's Hwy 31 go to the Kilgore 259 intersection and turn right. Go 2 blocks south.]
