At our monthly meeting on Thursday, January 17, Helen Roeder will present her program on carriage driving, complete with a video. Helen is a Mensan from Denton. She is a horse lover and a competitive carriage driver. She operates Sunshine Farm and is quite an advocate of the country life.
Becca Miller will host the meeting at her home, 1035 S. Travis St, in Sherman. Becca has a ham, paper plates and drinks, and requests you bring salads, vegetables, desserts or whatever will go with ham. BYOB is OK, too. Take I-75 to Sherman and exit on SOUTH TRAVIS. Go to 1035 S. Travis and you are there! Call 870-9616 if you have trouble finding us. (SEE MAP inside.)
Other recent programs in Sherman have included:
1) Roger Powell: "Texas, Up Close and Personal" in true vaudvillian tradition "How and Why Anyone Would Even Want to Go That Far to Achieve Such an Ill-Conceived Life Objective".
2) Tim Peake: the Toughlove International Program to support parents of troubled teenagers and older adolescent children; a program to make our communities safer places in which to live.
Note:
Yes, Sherman IS a long way from most of East Texas. Find them
on your Texas map on I-75 north of Dallas. Way on up there.
Just below Oklahoma. Now you know how THEY feel reading about our
meetings. So do what they did. Plan a meeting and get it in
this, YOUR NEWSLETTER! E-mail your plans to crdixon@etbu.edu
by the 25th of the month PRIOR to your meeting. I'll also help you
with an e-mail list for your area.
