Come and See the ArkLaTex "3-CORNERS"
After lunch Saturday at the Catfish King in Atlanta we will journey about 12 miles SE to the corner marker for the ArkLaTex, the place where three states meet. You read about it in last month's newsletter; now load up the car and meet us in Atlanta. You can get YOUR picture taken at the 3-Corners! The Catfish King Restaurant is about a block north of Wal-Mart on Hwy 59 (507 Loop 59). We'll go east about 1:30 or 2 o'clock and enjoy the wildflowers along Hwy 77. The 3-Corners marker is on the north side of Highway 77 at the Texas-Louisiana line. Arkansas territory starts on the north side of the marker.

KTPB - 88.7 FM Radio - Appreciation Dinner
Tuesday March 26 East Texas Mensa and East Texas Baptist University's Music Dept will host the KTPB Public Radio staff at our 5th annual KTPB Appreciation Dinner. Meet us at the Jalapeno Tree Restaurant on Hwy 259 and help us thank them for their great classical music, news, local concerts, and Kilgore College sports.
Meet Kathy Roberts, Manny Almanza, Bryan Black, Kevin Kelly, Jim Allen and Richard Anderson. ETBU helps pay the bill, but we need Mensans there to pick up a couple of checks, too. KTPB celebrated 11 years of broadcasting February 5th, serving TYLER, LONGVIEW, KILGORE, MARSHALL, JACKSONVILLE, HENDERSON, GILMER, LINDALE, HAWKINS, and many other towns in the center of our Mensa group.
From Tyler, take Hwy 31 to Kilgore, turn right on 259 and go south about 2 blocks past Wal-Mart. Jalapeno Tree is on the left across from Durham Chevrolet. From Longview go south on 259 etc, etc. Ask for the KTPB tables. Financial Report: 3-31-02 balance $1139.25. (KTPB = donations only.)
