It's time for a Mensa picnic!
Tyler State Park is just north of I-20 on state Hwy 14, due north of Tyler.
(Get on I-20 from wherever you are, and drive toward Tyler.) The state
day-pass fee is charged for each car. The park is easy to find on the left
side of Hwy 14. Pay for your day-pass, and take a left when the road eventually
forks. You will be headed toward the bathhouse and the large swimming area.
We need to get a Mensa Picnic table - we usually find one west of the swimming
area. (Drive around.)
Paddleboats provide a cool ride (if you splash a little water) and
are available for rent on the west side of the bathhouse. Bring extra bread
for the ducks and sunscreen for your feathers. Bring a picnic or buy Bodacious
BBQ at I-20 and Hwy 14.

Meet with the TEXOMA AREA MENSA group Thursday July 18 at 7 pm at the
Golden Corral Restaurant.
US 82 East and Loy Lake Road (just east of Highway 75 between Sherman and
Denison). It's on the SE corner of the intersection of Loy Lake Road and
the frontage road of Highway 82 East. Just ask for the Mensa table! For

or Tim Peake tpeake@pillsbury.com. Tim's been on sick leave and Roger's
been very busy working on some graduate courses. Keep on supporting the
group! Tim and Roger started the "Training" for becoming proctors on July
7th. Roger has been in education a long time, and must give the Mensa test
at two sessions while observed by a regular proctor. We did this July 7th,
testing Bryan Segrest at the first session and Ryan Little and Logan Thurman
at the second. Charles Dixon, proctor, and Tim Peake observed Roger give
the tests. Now Roger must be approved by Mensa, and forms signed by our
Loc Sec, and Roger will be a new proctor. Roger can then observe Tim giving
two tests, and we will have TWO new proctors!
