The Tyler China King is in the SE corner of the shopping center on the SE corner of Broadway and Loop 323. If the Loop was a clock, this intersection would be at 6, the southern-most part of the Loop. We had very good service here a few months ago, and they have both Americanized Chinese food and authentic fare in a large buffet area. Ask for the Mensa table!

The October meeting of our Texoma Area Mensa Group will be held on Thurs, December 16, 2004, at the Golden Corral Restaurant (Highway 82 at Loy Lake Road east of Hwy 75) in Sherman, 7:00 PM. We are normally in the north end of the dining room. Typical Mensa format and fare. Please RSVP your attendance if possible to roger-powell@sbcglobal.net. Many of you have asked about Tim Peake, who co-founded the Texoma Mensa Group with me several years ago. Tim and his wife were active members, and he and I trained with Charles Dixon, East Texas Mensa, to become Mensa Proctors. Tim and his wife have not been at our meetings for a long time, and I regret having to inform you of the following circumstances. Tim's wife was gracious enough to share this with me and with you, and those of you who knew Tim and his wife will recognize how difficult for her it was to relate the following:
For the last thirty months or so, Tim has been suffering and struggling with Frontal Temporal Lobe Deterioration (FTD), a debilitating and progressive condition similar in effect to Alzheimer's Disease. He has been given only four more months to live, and now weighs less than ninety pounds. He is in hospice care, but is unable to recognize anyone, including his family. I ask that you remember Tim and his family in your prayers. I offered his wife our assistance and help with anything that she or the family needed, but she told me that everything that can be done is being accomplished for Tim. Please remember Tim and his family over the coming months.
