The TAMG meeting dates have been moved to Tuesday night, and the March meeting date is March 15, 2005.The meeting will be held at the Golden Corral Restaurant (Highway 82 at Loy Lake Road east of Hwy 75) in Sherman, 7:00 PM. We are normally in the north end of the dining room. Typical Mensa format and fare. Please RSVP your attendance if possible to roger-powell@sbcglobal.net. Remember that your family, your friends, your children, and all others are welcome at our Table.
Testing is scheduled for the third Saturday of April at the Sherman Public Library Community Room. The Library has a scheduling conflict for April 16, and I will be moving the session to another location. No one tested at the February session. Should you or someone you know be considering completing the testing for full membership in Mensa, please contact me as soon as possible for additional information and scheduling. We would be happy to assist you in completing you Mensa membership.
I would like the topic for next Tuesday night to include a discussion of a community-related, high visibility, highly informative projects to introduce our Group and our Table to a larger portion of our community and area. Publicity is difficult for any group, but there are some methods to accomplish it. We just need to broaden the visibility and knowledge of Mensa in North Texas and Southern Oklahoma. Give us your input by attending our meeting or by e-mailing your ideas to me to relate. This is a crucial step in elevating our Group and its membership.
Looking forward to seeing all of you this week.
Roger Powell

RSVP and eat Chili Stew at 6 pm from Le Ila Dixons’ kitchen ($1 per bowl). Or eat on the way over and join us around 7 pm as Charles and Le Ila show pictures and tell about the Chinese New Year festivities they experienced this February.
For the meeting in Marshall, RSVP to crdixon@mcc4u.com or 903-938-9737. You’ll get a big bowl of chili stew for $1, served at 6 pm March 19th at the Dixons’ house, 4406 John Reagan. From Longview on US 80, travel through most of Marshall to the US 59 intersection, and continue east on 80 about 2 miles. For Tyler area or Longview on I-20, travel to the Marshall US 59 exit and travel north to US 80. Turn east on 80. After a couple of miles there will be 2 close traffic lights, then a “SCHOOL ZONE” sign over the highway. Turn north at the first street after the sign, and travel toward the school (about a mile). The street just past the school is John Reagan. Turn right and go about 3 blocks to the next-to-last house on the right, 4406 John Reagan.
At 7 pm (or when we finish the chili stew) we’ll show photos and talk about our recent trip to China. The bald-headed, bearded longevity figure in the souvenir shops got his head rubbed for good luck (as did the various Buddhas, and yours truly, Charles Dixon.)
